The extend of urbanization – the main factor of differentiation of regional and settlement development socio-urbanization status conditions existential and development conditions of regions quantitative characteristics of regions, social potentials of regions and their total development. The rate index of urbanization refers to the proportion of total population which inhabits urban places. Urbanism as a way of life is the net effect, as evident in human behavior, of all these facets of the urban place also a form of social organization.

This article presents the ethnic structure of the population of Serbia according to the 2002 census results. Also, there are analyzed the burden coefficients, age index and coefficients describing the dynamics of burden changes in minorities of Serbia, specifically the inflow, outflow and substitution coefficients.

Regional Development and Unemployment in Slovenia

There are great economic disparities in labor market of Slovenia. This work analyses them on the basis of several unemployment indicators: unemployment rate, value of per capita GDP, long-term unemployment, unemployment rates vs. level of education, unemployment gender ratio. The statistical units have made the observation framework. The analysis results show that there is pronounced relations core-periphery in Slovenia.

The development in the particular regions of Slovenia is significantly differentiated in accordance with several factors, which have a direct or indirect influence on the regional development, depending on various social, cultural and economical predispositions of the given region. It is the goal of every country, in terms of regional development, to minimize regional disparities, caused by an uneven investment disposition in the area of social capital, innovations, marketing and planning, within the particular regions.

This work largely deals with the practical possibilities of the analysis of urban toponyms and their interpretation, which may be appealing in the ield of multidisciplinary studies of sociology, history and geography. Our ambition has been to attempt to verify the statement that the names of streets, squares or parks in the historical centre of cities serve as indicators of oficial views and ideological impressions on the political, social and historical events, in the context of Central Europe.

Land cover is the physical state of the contemporary landscape as represented by natural, as well as by man modified and created objects. It is simultaneously a very good indicator of the present state of land use. We used some methods of landscape-ecological stability evaluation. We investigated landscape stability by five different types of mathematical indexes. The aim of our research work is point out to strengthening the territorial identity, stabilized features of landscape system and objectives of natural protections.
